Apply to become our next event host!
Are you interested in career development and meeting new people and have a knack for engaging audiences? We’re looking for two enthusiastic and dynamic event hosts for our upcoming Study and Stay in Turku Career Event on 3 November 2026!
As a host, you will:
- Guide the flow of the event on the event day (presence needed from 12–19.30 on the 3th Nov)
- Keep the audience engaged – both on-site and online audiences
- Introduce speakers and facilitate Q&A sessions
- Provide information about the event agenda and activities
- Represent the international student community in Turku
What’s also involved:
- Preparatory Work: Contact speakers in advance to learn about useful topics and themes they wish to highlight.
- Script Planning: Collaborate with your co-host to plan the event script and ensure a smooth and engaging flow.
- Production Meetings: Attend a couple of production planning meetings to align with the event team and ensure everything runs seamlessly.
Who we’re looking for:
- Current international students or recent alumni of any higher education institution in Turku
- Confident speakers with a friendly and approachable personality
- Individuals who can bring energy and enthusiasm to the event
No need to be a professional! You don’t have to be a professional speaker or have a lot of experience. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable speaking in front of people and have an approachable personality. Have a look at the previous years’ recordings: what would you be like as a host? If you know someone else who is applying and you believe you would have a great dynamic on stage together, you can even suggest a co-host on the application form.
Each host will be paid compensation of 500 € for the work (taxable income). This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your communication skills, expand your network, and contribute to an exciting event aimed at helping fellow students explore career opportunities in Turku!
Interested? Fill in the application form online by Monday 28 September at 23:59. We ask you to include short video (1–2 minutes) to your application, introducing yourself and explaining why you think international talents should study and stay in Turku. Please note that videos longer than 2 minutes will not be reviewed.
The hosts will be chosen based on the application and introduction videos, but before the final decision the event team can have an introduction meeting with the candidates.
