CoCoLaC workshop, Keynote by Prof. Minna Maijala

Linguistic and cultural sustainability: Perspectives across Languages and Cultures – Keynote by Prof. Minna Maijala at the CoCoLaC workshop, 11th December 2026, University of Helsinki
Workshop description (Organisers: Kati Dlaske, Franka Kermer, Christian Rink and Eeva Sippola)
We invite contributions examining how languages and cultures interact with their social, political, ideological, educational, and ecological environments, and how these interactions shape sustainable linguistic and cultural practices. The workshop thus aims to bring different disciplinary and methodological perspectives together. We welcome contributions that develop conceptual, methodological, empirical, or practice-based approaches to linguistic and cultural sustainability.
Given the research profile of CoCoLaC, we particularly welcome contributions focusing on Germanic and Romance languages and cultures. Contributions addressing other languages, cultures, and comparative contexts are equally welcome.
