Team

URKO is a consortium initiative between three departments of the University of Turku. Professor Päivi Onkamo is the principal investigator of the initiative. Professor Sirkka Saarinen from the department of Finnish and Finno-Ugric languages is responsible for one of the initiative’s subprojects, and university lecturer Harri Tolvanen from the department of geography and geology is responsible for another subproject. Outi Vesakoski acts as the multidisciplinary coordinator for the initiative, and Tua Nylén works on spatial modeling. Meeli Roose  is a doctoral student of the geographical and geological department working for URKO, and Anne-Mai Ilumäe is attached a postdoc researcher for the project at the department of Biology.
