Anniina Snellman

Anniina has a background in biomedicine, focusing on neurobiology and molecular imaging. She obtained her PhD from the University of Turku in 2017, working on PET tracer development and validation using microPET and mouse models of Alzheimer’s disease. She first joined the Turku Alzheimer Imaging lab in 2017 as a postdoctoral researcher.

In 2020-2022, Anniina did her other postdoc in the Neurochemistry laboratory at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden) focusing on fluid biomarker development for neurological disorders.

She currently holds a fellowship from Research Council of Finland, and after returning to Turku has been leading the ongoing ASIC-E4 project, aiming to investigate the interplay of early cerebral changes in cognitively unimpaired APOE4 carriers.
