Veera Soininen

Veera started in the group as a research assistant in June 2025, after which she did her master’s thesis with the group. Her master’s thesis was titled Longitudinal White Matter Changes in Cognitively Healthy Individuals at Different Genetic Risk for Alzheimer’s Disease. Veera graduated with a Master of Science in Drug Discovery and Development from the University of Turku in the spring of 2026. She is continuing with the group doing her PhD studies, officially starting from January 2027. Her thesis will focus on the prediction of neurodegenerative diseases from magnetic resonance imaging utilizing machine learning.
