Veikka Savila

Veikka earned their Master’s degree in Biosciences, specializing in Molecular Systems Biology, from the University of Turku. They also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, with a thesis exploring Neuroepigenetics: Regulation of Gene Expression During Memory Formation. Their Master’s thesis, completed at the Bucci Brain Imaging Lab, focused on Recognizing Early Signs of Dementia Utilizing [18F]FDG-PET Brain Imaging Data and Machine Learning. Following this, Veikka continues at the lab as a research assistant. Their research interests include the pathology and genetics of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly memory disorders, approached through a range of neuroscientific methods.
