Big Meetings

SparkUpDays in Rauma

On 16-19 October, 80 students, 40 teachers and project team members from Estonia, Sweden, Latvia and Finland gathered in Rauma, Finland for SparkUpDays to launch the international teamwork of student startup program DigiYouth!

The days in Rauma involved icebreaking, teambuilding, ideation, prototyping, inspirational speakers and fun conversations about cultures, entrepreneurship, technology and education. Thank you Maija Esko, Katja Vaahtera, Harri Ketamo and Jenni Rajahalme, all the project group and of course, our active DY students! During the SparkUpDays first 16 student startups were formed that start to work together for 1,5 years. The international teams will have online meetings with team members, and DigiYouth lessons in schools.

Students from Estonia, Latvia and Finland follow the design thinking process to find a problem that can be solved with a digital solution, refine the idea, develop the idea into a prototype and learn about the ways to present and market their digital product or service. Already, we heard great ideas about improving transportation or recycling, well-being of animals, communication between different cultures and helping people with social anxiety to get more friends.
