The changes to the piloted European Manufacturing Survey 2022 has been completed

The EMS survey was launched in early spring to test new claims with business leaders.

In Finland, the study was started with anonymous convenience sampling. 15 business leaders were reached by e-mail from March 28 to April 15, 2022, with the following invitation:

Dear business leader,

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the EU Manufacturing Test Survey for Finland. The response time for the survey is between March 28 and April 15, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. You can find more information about our manufacturing consortium operations: https://www.isi.fraunhofer.de/en/themen/wertschoepfung/fems.html

The University of Turku monitors and supports the activities of companies in the manufacturing industry and plans and implements training and research based on industry and working life. Answering the survey is very important. The manager should consider the form; she/he should discuss his estimates with other management when completing the form.

To develop the manufacturing industry, the manager should be able to provide the following information truthfully:

– The company’s industry, operating environment, and the company products and services with the accuracy required by the requested parameters, and

– Organization of operating concepts and control methods as well

– Competitive and manufacturing technology factors of the product and the utilization rate of the manufacturer as well

– Manufacturing business key performance parameters as well as

– Possible relocation of factories estimates for all items should be made according to strict time limits.

The research is aimed at the manufacturing industry and companies providing services to it, and other companies identified in the study. Open the survey at Webropol and answer accurately using the latest information available.

The survey should also use data from previous years for the years of introduction of technologies and organizational models, answering the question of how long the organization has used those models, methods, and techniques. If you are asked questions, you can give expert opinions in response to them, for example, agreed by all in your company’s management team. Information from other product and service delivery experts and managers is also likely to be needed to respond.

Please note that the report you submit reflects your company on your business and not just one person’s personal view of your company’s competitiveness during the period in question.

The survey received a lot of attention and discussion, covering the feedback process regarding the improvement of the response ergonomics of the survey. Nine respondents responded to the dissemination of the survey. Three also responded to the feedback questionnaire of the EMS survey, whose responses led to the improvement of the local survey structure and information.

The report of the EU-level consortium at the meetings on 11.4.2022 summarized the new legalities that had to be submitted to the coordinator by the deadline of 6.4.2022. The dilemmas were restructured, and the survey structure’s internal order was changed quite radically. The time allowed for the completion of the survey was given on May 24, 2022, during which one additional session was held to compile domestic non-core arguments. The last structuring of the Core classes had to be ready on June 4, 2022, after which the collection can start if the coding of the variables for automation has been completed.
