Solvalla national sports center, where the North-European Radio Astronomy school will take place is located about 35km west of Helsinki. Here are instructions how to get there.

Getting to Finland

One can fly to Helsinki-Vantaa international airport, or take a ferry from Tallinn or Stockholm.

Public transportation from the Helsinki airport

The cheapest (but longest) way to get to Solvalla from Helsinki airport is by public transportation. One should first take the train (I-train) to Huopalahti, where you can transfer to E-train to Espoon asema. There one should take bus 245 to Solvalla sports center. The trip takes about 1.5 hours depending on the schedule, and costs 2.80€ (BC ticket). Taxi from the airport

The easiest way to get to Solvalla is by taking a taxi from the airport. A regular taxi from the taxi line at the airport will cost about 90€ but you should ask the driver in advance. Note that different companies have different prices. The distance from the airport is about 40 km and takes about 40 minutes. If you contact us in advance with your flight information, we can try to see if another participant is arriving around the same time so that you could share a taxi.

Public transportation from Helsinki city center
