Sea and Maritime Studies

Climate change, pollution and other human-induced pressures affect seas worldwide. The Baltic Sea serves as a model for these changes. The two universities located at Turku, Southwest Finland – Åbo Akademi University and University of Turku – have strong, multidisciplinary research focusing on the Baltic sea and coastal regions surrounding it.
