April 17, 2026. Within the framework of her course on the Russian Indigenous North taught at Tampere University, Eeva Kuikka gave a lecture “Indigeneity in Digital Media,” in which she addressed Indigenous people’s self-repesentations and online activism in contemporary digital media.
March 20, 2026. Eeva Kuikka presented at the workshop organized by the Society of Finnish Slavists, giving a talk entitled “Resilienssi ja Venäjän alkuperäiskansat” (Resilience and Russia’s Indigenous Peoples).
February 26-27, 2026. Olga Simonova gave a presentation ”Nursing during the Russian Civil War: Regendering of the Profession” at the ”3rd Feminist Encounters with Marxism: Bodies, Politics and Economy” at the University of Turku.
February 19-22, 2026. Olga Simonova gave a presentation ”Narratives of Russian Civil War Heroines within the Cultural Context of World War II” at the Conference of American Association of Teachers of Slavic and East European Languages (AATSEEL) in New Orleans, US.

November 20-23, 2025. Eeva Kuikka participated in a roundtable titled ”Literary (Colonial) Encounters: Indigenous Authors in Dialogue with Russian Imperial Discourses” at the annual convention of the Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies in Washington, D.C.
October, 29, 2025. Tatu Laukkanen, Arja Rosenholm ja Olga Simonova presented the research project ”Revealing Official and Alternative Gender Discourses: Women’s (Self) Representations in Russia’s Wars, 1914–2024 at a seminar of the Tampere Research Coalition of Russian and Chinese Media (TaRC) at Tampere University.

Olga Simonova gave a presentation ”Girls’ Maturing on the First World War Front in Russian and Soviet Women’s Literature” at the conference ”Girl, Interrupted: Testimonies, Silences and Self-Censorship in European Women’s Life Writing” at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
