CFP Innovation Camp: The Future of Smart Dining (deadline Oct 26)

From November 17 to 20, students from business, technology and computer science, and medical fields will come together at Medisiina D, University of Turku, to develop innovative solutions for real-world challenges in the food service sector. The camp is based on results from the Dining Flow research project , which has explored how restaurants can use data to reduce waste, improve service, and adapt to different levels of digital maturity.

Through hands-on teamwork and the use of Design Thinking, participants will co-create business concept prototypes that create value from inclusive, data-driven decision-making tools, trustworthy data governance models, and real-time feedback systems that benefit both restaurants and diners.

The camp runs from 16:00 to 20:00 each day, culminating in a final showcase presentation during the Dining Flow Final Conference on November 21, from 12:00 to 16:00. The experience offers a unique opportunity to work across disciplines, gain innovation experience, and engage with an active research consortium (Faculty of Technology, Medical Faculty, and Turku School of Economics) and industry partners (e.g. KONE, Jamix, Metos, Safera, Sodexo, Smart Kitchen, Haltian, SYK.).

Participation in the full camp grants 2 ECTS in innovation studies (Turku School of Economics). The working language is English. Spaces are limited, so we encourage early registration by October 26.

We will inform of your acceptance Friday October 29
