XLVIII Finnish Conference of Linguistics

The Finnish Conference of Linguistics was held as an in-person conference on 12-14 May 2022. We had over 200 participants in total! Thank you to all participants for a successful event! See you again next year in Oulu!

The XLVIII Finnish Conference of Linguistics is held 12-14 May 2022 as an in-person conference at the University of Turku. The theme of the conference is Contacts, corpora, and variation. The theme is broad, and for example the diverse range of research topics and subjects, theoretical frameworks and methods represents the variation in linguistic research. We especially call for proposals related to these themes, but presentation and workshop proposals on other areas of linguistics and translation studies are welcome.

The keynote speakers of the Finnish Conference of Linguistics in Turku are Antti Kamunen (University of Oulu), Peter Slomanson (Tampere University), Camilla Wide (University of Turku), and Bodo Winter (University of Birmingham). In addition to the keynote speeches, section presentations, workshops, and posters the program includes a panel discussion organized by the Linguistic Association of Finland. The University of Turku’s School of Language and Translation Studies is supported in organizing the conference by the City of Turku, Delingua, the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies, FUURT, Lingsoft, Sanako, and Turva.

The deadline for abstract submissions is 15 March 2022. Authors will be notified of abstract acceptance by 30 March 2022. Registration for the conference will be open between 21 March and 15 April 2022.
