Our Clinical Research Facilities
The Early Nutrition and Health research group has longstanding professional experience and know-how in designing, setting up and conducting clinical studies involving state-of-the-art methodologies in nutrition, metabolism and gut microbiota. Our group operates in dedicated clinical research facilities in the University of Turku. Clinical research facilities include equipment for clinical research with metabolic studies using metabolic measurements as well as sampling and storing biological material.
Nutrition and Clinical Research Expertise and Techniques
Design and planning of nutrition studies, including clinical studies, RCT and cohort studies, surveys.
Dietary intake assessment.
Measurement of body composition with air-displacement plethysmography (BOD POD).
We conduct clinical studies where we combine data from our expertise areas and produce novel scientific information on the mechanisms underlying both the health and disease of various study populations.
Methodologies
Our clinical research facilities include biological sampling, body composition analyses, metabolic analyses, behavioural testing and physical activity testing.
