LIFE

The aim of the LIFE project (Lifestyle in Pregnancy and Health) is utilisation of scientific research results to promote nutrition and health of mothers and children by offering new tools for clinical, societal and industrial actions. The LIFE project comprehensively addresses the nutrition of overweight pregnant women, the primary approach being identification and investigation of new means to support a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy, including E-health.

The project is composed of three parts. Firstly, specific issues related to maternal nutrition will be studied within the FOPP study. Secondly, the E-health approach is used to investigate the efficacy of the modern way in supporting a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy.  Thirdly, an international survey and a web-based study of pregnant women will be carried out.

E-health techonologies may provide novel means to support lifestyle changes and self-care during pregnancy.

E-health technologies may provide novel means to support lifestyle changes and self-care during pregnancy. We have collected the data for the study in 2016-2018 and are in the process of reporting the results.

Business Finland (former Tekes, Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation) is the key funder of the project.
