Childhood asthma background and preventative strategies

Allergic diseases, such as atopic eczema, asthma and allergies, are one of the most common chronic diseases affecting both children and adults worldwide. Even though previous studies have gathered knowledge of some risk factors for developing these diseases, we still lack effective preventive methods. The goal of this doctoral research is to identify risk factors, both on clinical and cellular level, for developing childhood allergic diseases and further aim to discover new possible preventive methods.
