Effects of prebiotic chitooligosaccharides, postbiotics, and hydrolyzed whey protein, on health markers and gut microbiota composition and activity: evidence from dietary intervention studies
The human gut microbiota plays a crucial role in health and well-being, and its imbalance, known as dysbiosis, can lead to various health issues. The goal of this doctoral research is to investigate the potential of new dietary intervention strategies, specifically prebiotics, postbiotics, and the consumption of edible insects in managing dysbiosis. These strategies aim to promote the growth of beneficial gut microbiota and reduce low-grade systemic inflammation, thereby potentially mitigating inflammation-related health conditions.
