Collaborate with the ImmuDocs Doctoral Education Pilot

We are inviting companies and different kinds of expert organisations to participate in the immunology-focused ImmuDocs Doctoral Education Pilot. ImmuDocs is part of the Finnish National Doctoral Education Pilot 2024–2027, which aims to train a thousand new doctors for Finland. ImmuDocs is coordinated by InFLAMES Flagship, and it has 81 three-year salary positions for doctoral researchers.

ImmuDocs emphasizes academia-industry collaborations, innovations in pharmaceuticals and healthcare technology, fostering economic growth, job creation, and healthcare advancements. We are actively seeking partnerships with companies and warmly invite you to participate in the pilot program. Here are some ways you can get involved:

  • Visiting Opportunities: Offer short- or long-term visiting opportunities to doctoral researchers.
  • Short Excursions: Host one-day excursions to your company/organisation.
  • Collaborative Projects: Collaborate with research groups on immunology-related projects aiming for PhD (instructions for applying a Collaborative Project are given below).
  • Mentoring Program: Become a mentor for one or more of the 81 doctoral researchers.
  • Participation in Follow-Up Committees: Engage in short progress meetings twice a year as an external adviser.
  • Talent Cultivation: Identify and educate doctoral researchers to meet your company’s/organisation’s needs.
  • Educational Contributions: Inform us about the crucial education needs for working in your company/organisation.
  • Research Themes and Skills: Define additional research themes and skills required by your company/organisation and future PhDs.
  • Training Participation: Offer doctoral researchers an opportunity to participate in your company’s/organisation’s training and other events.

If you have other ideas in mind, please let us know. We welcome everything from brief excursions to comprehensive collaborative industrial PhD projects (see below) and beyond. Intellectual property matters will be handled flexibly on a case-by-case basis with innovation and legal services.

Apply for a collaborative ImmuDocs project with the University of Turku research group

ImmuDocs Pilot is opening a call for the projects starting September 16. In the call you need to describe shortly ImmuDocs project using the provided template and submit it according to the instructions. Notably, all doctoral researchers will be recruited by the university. After this date, the projects proposals will be reviewed and selected by the ImmuDocs Board for the recruitment process of the Doctoral Researcher.
