Grant for scientific research

The Research Center for Child Psychiatry in the University of Turku, Finland opens a call for grant applications for PhD level scientific research. The grant is related to research on depression during pregnancy as part of Voimaperheet intervention project. In the international research environment of the Voimaperheet project, we develop, evaluate and implement digitally delivered, preventive interventions aiming at increasing the psychosocial wellbeing of children, adolescent and families, as well as low-threshold targeted interventions to tackle mental health problems that start in childhood and early adolescence and have high public health significance.

The applicant should be a Licentiate of Medicine or hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as psychology, nursing science or bioinformatics. Knowledge on mental health disorders and previously shown interest in developing and studying health related interventions are an asset. The motivation to investigate biological factors, such as immunological or genetic markers associated with depression during pregnancy is considered beneficial for the applicant.

The applicant should familiarize with pension insurance (Mela) and taxation regulations for recipients of scientific grants and scholarships. The successful applicant is expected to enroll in the PhD program at the University of Turku within 6 months of starting the position. The University will offer to the researcher in the grant-based position the needed equipment and working space.
