Welcome to the Archipelago Research Institute!

The Archipelago Research Institute, located on the picturesque island of Seili in the heart of the Turku archipelago, is a marine research facility with a rich historical legacy. The Institute offers various research support services as well as participates in multidisciplinary research of the Baltic Sea, with a particular emphasis on understanding the unique dynamics of the Archipelago Sea.

Our station welcomes both researchers and visitors throughout the year. Travel services on the island are provided by Visit Seili.

As part of the Finnish Research Stations RESTAT network, we share a commitment to the principle of open access to research facilities.
