Joint research infrastructure funding for Archipelago Sea region

The NEMESIS research infrastructure gathers environmental and maritime safety data across the Archipelago Sea region. Developed through a partnership of three higher education institutions, it supports research into environmental and security anomalies while enabling long-term monitoring of changes in marine ecosystems. The Research Council of Finland has awarded nearly €15 million in total funding to ten local research infrastructures. These projects are set to begin on 1 January 2026 and will run for three years.
