MONOPS – Briefly in English
The research project ”Wider shoulders or deeper gaps? Opportunities and challenges of interprofessional collaboration in basic education student welfare” is funded by the Finnish Work Environment Fund (2022-2024). The project identifies the success factors of interprofessional collaboration in basic education student welfare in a new administrative structure of welfare services county, and produces an evaluation tool and recommendations for the practice of interprofessional collaboration.
The theoretical basis of the research project is laid on the levels of interprofessional collaboration and its importance for the professional, as well as the systemic and complex nature of collaboration. Successful interprofessional collaboration is seen as a starting point for achieving the goals of student welfare and for the well-being and job satisfaction of professionals working in student welfare.
The data consists of the student welfare plans of municipalities in Southwest Finland and Ostrobothnia, which are analyzed qualitatively using document analysis. In addition, an online questionnaire will be carried out for the members of the student welfare teams of the municipalities’ basic education schools, and regional expert panels will be organized using the eDelfoi method.
Expected benefits of the research project are:
1) helps to improve collaboration among professionals working in student welfare in basic education by providing information on the implementation of interprofessional collaboration in the new environment created by the administrative reform and service structure
2) supports the success of the reform by strengthening the integration of services through the development of interprofessional collaboration
3) provides evidence-based recommendations for practice and an evaluation tool to ensure the success of interprofessional collaboration in student welfare
The results can be used not only in student welfare, but also widely in the management and development of cross-administrative collaboration in the fields of health care, social care, and education.
