Urho Kekkonen, the president of Finland (1956-1981) went diligently on “the road of Moscow”. He made as many as 35 trips to Soviet Union, the first in May 1958 and the last in November 1980. These included official state visits, unofficial negotiation trips as well as holiday trips (especially hunting and fishing). The president was well known for his great interest on sports, and one of his last trips to Soviet Union was to follow the Olympic Games of Moscow in July 1980.
